My daughter Adaeze, had a hair cut because we found it difficult to manage making her hair. She didn’t want the long hours of styling or plaiting and would rather have her peace. Recently she found out that everything that has advantages also has disadvantages. Tell me more about that!😂😂😂😂
She has some favorite hairpins that sits well on grown hair and she sometimes wants to have certain look but is restricted by the shortness of her hair! It’s been a source of humor watching her trying to navigate this challenge.
I suggested to her that perhaps she can have permanent locks like mine and won’t need to frequently sit for long hours trying to fix her hair and then she can use her hair accessories.
Oh mine!! I got a very strong response “Mom, I do not want locks!”
I was really baffled at the strength behind the No. Of course trust my very curious mind to probe further. “Mama, Woow! That’s a big no from you. Why don’t you want locks?”
Her response shocked me! She said “Mom, you are always on locks. I don’t like the fact that you can’t change your looks.”
I responded and explained that I periodically repacked my hair in different styles and she said “… but it’s still looks the same!”
Mmmm, I reflected over our conversation for days and I could really relate with her.
My hubby had asked me once if the style of hair is permanent and we had almost similar conversations like I had with my daughter. So hearing it again from my daughter made me reflect on ways I could better manage my hair style to look different.😂😂😂😂😂😂
I am not one who is really invested in hair styles and that is part of my deep love for locks! 😂😂😂😂😂 like we would say in our Naija slangs “Carry go!”
For me my locks are carry go. Low maintenance and low time consumption. Well I’ve taken action and ordered some hair wigs😂😂😂😂.
I can also see how as entrepreneurs, we sell the same products and services time and time again that before we put out our adverts, people already know what we want to say! 😂😂😂😂😂.
Have you ever wondered why big companies periodically do a complete overhaul on the look of their products and add new product lines or kill some products lines over a period of time?
Branding and re-branding is an important aspect of business development and this should be consciously embedded in your business growth plan.
The look and feel of your brand is as important as the content of the brand so don’t joke with packaging and optic appeal of your brand.
It’s time to do an assessment of your product or brand to see if it’s time to take action and invest in re-branding.
I’ll love to hear from you.
